Through lectures featuring examples from Maine\, group discussions and exercises — participants will learn what they can do to support green infrastructure network design for resiliency from natural hazards. \nSession Objectives:\n\nParticipants become familiar with green infrastructure terms and concepts\nParticipants understand the ecological\, economic\, and societal benefits of green infrastructure\nParticipants understand the wide variety of contexts and scales of approaches referred to as green infrastructure today\nParticipants identify new or existing planning processes suitable for integrating green infrastructure concepts and techniques\nParticipants consider strategies for communicating the resilience benefits of green infrastructure to a broad range of stakeholders\nParticipants know about local green infrastructure activities and experts with additional information and resources\n\nWho should attend\nplanners\, public works officials\, conservation commission and planning board members\, harbor committees\, land trust members and others interested in decision-making related to increasing coastal resilience. \nContinuing Education Credits\n\nSix hours of certification maintenance credits for this course have been approved by the American Institute of Certified Planners.\nFive core continuing education credits have been approved for certified floodplain managers.
